Security
Keeping your enterprise data secure is something you need to take very seriously. If you are enabling users to access sensitive corporate data on their mobile device, you need to make sure the data is transmitted, stored, and accessed securely and by authorized users only.
Secure Data Transmission
Your BlackBerry® Enterprise Server (BES) ensures the most secure transmission of your data to and from the BlackBerry server and your device. For non-BlackBerry users, any data transmitted to and from the device and server uses HTTPS and SSL certificates to prevent others from seeing or intercepting your data during transmission.
Remote Data Lock & Wipe
If a device gets lost or stolen, the administrator has the ability to remotely lock the device and wipe the associated data clean to prevent unauthorized access. Unfortunately devices do get misplaced and stolen so you need to make sure that the data stored on them is protected appropriately.
Inactivity Timeouts
Users can be required to log in every time they launch an application or after a prolonged period of inactivity. You control when and how often users need to provide their login credentials.
Authentication & Authorization
To prevent unauthorized access to the application and its data, administrators can verify each user based on his or her unique device PIN in addition to their username and password for added security. This two-factor authentication process protects the device and application against unauthorized access.
